The Delaware Regional Partner (DE RP) is part of Christiana Care Health System, one of the region's largest not-for-profit healthcare providers. A community-based teaching hospital, Christiana Care is recognized as a regional center for excellence in cardiology, cancer and women's health services, as well as Level-I trauma care and Level-III neonatal intensive care. Christiana Care, a 2004 Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence, operates two hospitals, long-term and transitional care services and an extensive range of outpatient and home health services. The HIV Community Program, with five clinical sites throughout the state, provides care for an estimated 65 percent of HIV/AIDS patients who access care in Delaware. Garrett Colmorgen, M.D., director of Maternal/Fetal Medicine, is Co-Principal Investigator of the DE RP. Currently through the Community Program on Clinical Research in AIDS (CPCRA), Christiana Care was chosen to participate in the Strategies for Management of Anti-Retroviral Therapy (SMART) study. HIV Clinical Pharmacists have established and implemented a nested adherence clinic, a smoking cessation course and provide oversight to a large Peer Educator program. The DE RP has provided Level III training since 1988 and has ongoing collaborations with Ryan White Care Act (RWCA) providers, faith based agencies and the Division of Public Health.
