PRECEPTORSHIP CLINICAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The MAAETC Preceptorship Clinical Scholars Program offers a new intensive and experiential learning opportunity that connects traditional didactic education, case-based learning, and evidence-based clinical practice.
This program will feature interactive virtual training led by regional HIV experts, combined with local hands-on education and skill development.
Preceptorship Components:
1. Didactic 2-Day Session: This session will be offered twice a year and can accommodate up to 50 trainees each time.
2. Experiential On-Site Learning with Preceptors: Each MAAETC Local Partner Site will host this component, coordinating learning experiences with appropriate clinical preceptors.
3. Clinical Content: The educational topics covered will include, but are not limited to, the initial patient encounter, ART prescribing, interactions between STIs and HIV, Mpox, viral hepatitis, prevention strategies, PrEP/PEP, co-morbidities, co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, medication optimization, resistance testing, chronic disease management, adherence strategies, motivational interviewing, primary care, and immunizations.
