In a letter from Laura Cheever, MD, ScM at HRSA to all Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program colleagues, HRSA's HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) recognizes the month of May 2021 as Hepatitis Awareness Month 2021, with May 19, 2021 recognized as Hepatitis Tesing Day 2021.

HRSA HAB is raising awareness of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) and its impact among people with HIV by highlighting the several initiatives they have implemented to improve screening, care, and treatment for people with HIV/HCV coinfection and reduce the stigma, hesitancy, and lack of trust paitience may have when it comes to HCV testing and treatment.
