This session is the first in a multi-part educational series designed to build foundational knowledge and practical skills related to HIV care and prevention. Part 1 provides an overview of hepatitis C infection, including epidemiology, transmission, natural history, screening, diagnostic testing, and current treatment approaches. Participants will explore the intersection of HIV and HCV, including the impact of HIV coinfection on HCV transmission and progression of liver disease, as well as considerations for treatment and potential drug interactions. Subsequent sessions in the series will build on these foundational concepts by focusing on HIV fundamentals and HIV counseling and testing.
