Event Description 

During this event, best practices for completing comprehensive HIV prevention and PrEP Assessments for underserved communities will be provided, from a physician subject matter expert. Strategies and recommendations are intended to support clinicians working in the primary care setting in addition to, HIV clinic settings. 

Objectives

• Define the state of the HIV and STI epidemics in the US and how they disproportionally affect underserved communities
• Identify the basics and importance of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention.
• Explain the principles of comprehensive sexual health and sexual history taking.
• Recognize special considerations in caring for underserved populations using a risk-reduction philosophy.
