This engaging, virtual capacity-building session will focus on enhancing knowledge of Hepatitis treatment and prevention within the context of the HIV continuum. Through interactive activities and expert-led discussions, participants will explore key topics such as the intersection of HCV & HIV, the management of comorbidities, disease prevention, epidemiology, disease progression, screening protocols, and integrated treatment approaches.

At the end of this training, the learner will be able to:
- Discuss the intersection of HCV and HIV in coinfected patients.
- Review HCV/HIV coinfection epidemiology in Pennsylvania.
- Discuss the CDC’s Viral Hepatitis Strategic Plan and its framework for improving patient outcomes.
- Compare and contrast Hepatitis A, B, and C pathogenesis, symptoms, modes of transmission, and associated risk factors.
- Discuss HBV & HCV stages of disease progression and their impact on HIV care.
- Describe screening indications and testing methods for viral hepatitis.
- Identify treatment regimens for viral hepatitis and ART considerations.
- Identify different viral hepatitis prevention strategies.
- Discuss best practice approaches for HCV/HIV risk reduction.
- Discuss overdose prevention in people who are using drugs.
- Demonstrate the ability to link clients with or at high risk for HCV into care and prevention services.
- Identify best-practice approaches for HIV linkage to care, retention, and reengagement.
- Define program collaboration and service integration (PCSI) as a public health approach and describe its role in HCV/HIV care equity.
- Discuss methods for integrating HCV screening and treatment into HIV care using the PCSI framework.
