Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, the learner will be able to:
1. Differentiate between HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), including their indications and appropriate patient populations.
2. Summarize current PEP and PrEP medication regimens, with an emphasis on dosing, laboratory monitoring, and clinical management.
3. Discuss insurance coverage, patient assistance programs, and other strategies to improve access and affordability for PEP and PrEP medications.
