This session focuses on strengthening HIV prevention and care for HIV/AIDS. While pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) remains a cornerstone of HIV prevention, effective implementation requires strong clinical systems, timely risk assessment, patient engagement, and reliable linkage to care. This training will explore current approaches to PrEP delivery, including strategies to improve access, uptake, adherence, and retention in care. Participants will examine practical methods for integrating PrEP services into routine clinical workflows, with an emphasis on strengthening prevention outcomes for individuals at increased risk for HIV. The session will also highlight community resources, capacity building, and partnerships that support PrEP implementation, patient navigation, and long-term HIV prevention success.
Training Learning Objectives:
1) Review current PrEP strategies and clinical applications in HIV prevention.
2) Explain the role of PrEP in HIV prevention, including risk assessment, initiation, adherence, and ongoing care.
3) Identify strategies to integrate PrEP into clinical workflows to improve uptake, retention, and patient outcomes.
4) Describe community resources and linkage pathways that support PrEP access and sustained HIV prevention efforts.
