Patients often come to clinics with a variety of concerns. Sometimes skin findings may be present that indicate a need for an infectious disease referral. In this webinar Dr. Mandy Cho will cover indicator skin conditions that may be seen in an outpatient setting. This webinar will also cover recommendations for testing in adults in health care settings, as well as other necessary information in HIV and skin disorder case scenarios.
Course Objectives:
1. Review the CDC’s Recommendations for HIV Testing in Adults in Health Care Settings
2. Discuss opt-out testing models
3. Recognize associated disease states like tuberculosis and sexually transmitted infections
4. Examine indicator conditions that should indicate a need testing for HIV testing and evaluation in
the outpatient setting such as psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, peripheral neuropathy.
