This session is part of the larger Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) series on advancing HIV treatment and prevention access in the Mid-Atlantic region and the I-95 corridor. The series will highlight lessons learned, challenges encountered, and practical ideas participants can apply in their own programs. This session focuses on practical strategies for delivering HIV services to individuals and communities who face barriers such as unstable housing, transportation challenges, stigma, and competing social needs.
The speaker will explore mobile medicine models and other outreach approaches that bring care directly into communities in Mid-Atlantic. Topics will include adapting services to meet patients’ real-world circumstances, building trust through consistent presence, and integrating HIV care with support for social determinants of health.
