This training event is an interactive, in-person HIV rapid testing training for those who are interested in offering point-of-care rapid HIV testing.
Objectives: At the end of this program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss HIV transmission and timeline of appearance of HIV rapid testing laboratory markers.
- Perform 50 μl fingerstick blood collection.
- Perform two different CLIA waived rapid HIV tests (OraQuick® Advance and INSTI®) using fingerstick whole blood, including running external controls for quality measure.
