Objectives

  • Discuss recent developments in HIV perinatal transmissions in Maryland 
  • Review local epidemiology of perinatal HIV/AIDS 
  • Define how HIV/AIDS effects our populations
  • Assess current testing and prevention guidelines 
  • Examine current treatment recommendations 

Intended Audience

Educational sessions for nursing staff in Women and Children's Hospital to help increase awareness of recent increases in perinatal transmission of HIV across the state of Maryland.
