This in-person conference will identify the drivers of and the connection between HIV, race and poor mental health outcomes. After attending the conference participants will identify options for healing those negatively affected by the triad of HIV, race and mental health.
The conference objectives are to: 1.Describe the incidence of mental health diagnosis in minority adolescents and adults with HIV, 2.Describe how the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency will impact access to mental health care for persons with HIV, 3.Identify strategies for engaging and retaining marginalized population in mental health care and HIV care or prevention, 4. Discuss the impact of impact of the church and other community-based organizations on improving mental health outcomes in African American communities affected by HIV, 6.Describe innovative approaches to integrate mental health services into the care of inner city children and adolescents with or at risk for HIV. This conference will also include a Top 5 HIV topics lunchtime presentation.
