This talk will:

-Identify the ways that the LGBTQ population is impacted by the HIV epidemic in Baltimore          

-Examine the epidemiology of HIV in Baltimore among LGBTQ individuals

-Examine gaps in identification of LGBTQ individuals in reporting data

-Define the LGBTQ community

-Examine the words, labels, and jargon used by different members of the LGBTQ community to define, explore, and navigate identity

-Discuss LGBTQ competency in the medical HIV setting

-Discuss challenges for LGBTQ individuals in accessing and maintaining connection to HIV care

-Discuss ways to improve practice of compassionate care for this population
