The HIV Clinical Training is designed to provide physicians, nurses, dental professionals, physicians assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other working clinicians with an opportunity to do clinical observation, engage in case-based learning, and be mentored by an HIV expert in a clinical practice setting.

Objectives
After completing this conference, the learner should be able to:
HIV 101
- Updated information about HIV and STI’s
- Updated information about Treatment, Prevention, Treatment as Prevention, and what’s in between
- Tips, tools, and ideas to use for health education sessions
A Comprehensive Overview of HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)
- Briefly discuss the epidemiology of COVID-19 in people with HIV
- To distinguish various clinical presentations of COVID-19 in people with HIV
- To describe currently available COVID-19 therapeutics for outpatient management
- To examine the place in therapy of currently relevant outpatient COVID-19 therapeutics
- To evaluate current evidence in the management of mild to moderate COVID-19
Addressing Cancer Screening and Care Considerations for The Transgender and Non-Binary Community Affected by HIV.
- Define the terms related to the LGBTQ+ community, with a particular emphasis on those who are transgender and non-binary.
- Recognize the types of gender affirming medical interventions transgender and non-binary persons may undergo.
- Recall many of the social and environmental stressors persons who identify as transgender and non-binary may experience that can increase risk of cancer related diseases
- Describe barriers to access and quality of health care that transgender and non-binary patients may face as well as some opportunities to dismantle systemic bias against sexual and gender minorities.
- Apply the current evidenced based recommendations within the healthcare system for transgender and non-binary patients as it relates to cancer related screening and treatment.
Covid-19 Treatment and HIV
- Briefly discuss the epidemiology of COVID-19 in people with HIV
- To distinguish various clinical presentations of COVID-19 in people with HIV
- To describe currently available COVID-19 therapeutics for outpatient management
- To examine the place in therapy of currently relevant outpatient COVID-19 therapeutics

Intended Audience
MAAETC's Clinical Training Program is designed for physicians, physician
assistants, clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.
Accreditation
Formal accreditation is not offered for this program. However, a certificate of attendance will be sent to all participants who complete the post-event evaluation.
