This class will be held at the Varina Library at 1875 New Market Rd, Henrico, VA 23231
This program will provide a basic training of Medicaid, including Medicaid expansion in Virginia, TANF, SNAP, and similar social welfare programs, Housing services including HOPWA and other programs, and an overview of ADAP and Benalytics This program is designed for case managers, navigators, community health workers, nurses and anyone else who may be assisting clients in navigating through social welfare programs. Upon completion of this program participants will be able to:
- Correctly identify clients who may be eligible for Medicaid in Virginia and ways to enroll clients
- Define TANF, SNAP, WIC, and other programs
- Explain differences in eligibility and enrollment processes forf housing programs
- Define eligibility criteria and application procedure for the four ADAP programs available in Virginia
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
Upon completion of this program, participants will receive a certificate awarding 6.5 hours of training. This satisfies VA Case Management Standards continuing education requirements for Medicaid, SNAP,TANF, etc and training requirements of first year case managers.
