On June 27th each year, we observe National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) to emphasize and encourage HIV testing. This year, we observe NHTD as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to create challenges for our communities, public health departments, and healthcare facilities. As we approach NHTD, we also recognize June as Pride month, and on June 5th, we commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first MMWR report on what would come to be known as AIDS.
This year, the NHTD theme is “My Test, My Way,” emphasizing that there are different ways and places to get tested for HIV, including at home with a self-test.
