The Fundamentals of Waived Rapid HIV Testing course is a 1 and 1/2 day class that teaches participants how to run CLIA-waived rapid HIV tests. This class will meet October 27 from 9am -5pm and October 28 from 9am -1pm. Attendance at both days is required. Pre-requisites for this course include the following:
- Successful completion of "The Facts" course within the past two years.
- Successful completion of "The Fundamentals of Prevention Counseling" course within the past two years.
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate safe work practices
- Identify the QA steps required before, during, and after rapid HIV testing
- List the steps of the HIV prevention counseling protocol in conducting the rapid HIV test
- Perform and interpret a waived rapid HIV test correctly
- Demonstrate finger sticking and sample collection
- Demonstrate the integration of HIV prevention counseling into the rapid testing process.

Intended Audience
This course is designed for, and limited to individuals who will be conducting CLIA-waived Rapid HIV Testing within 30 days of completing this course.
Certificate of Completion
Certificates of Completion for 10.5 hours will be provided upon successful completion of this program.
