Medication, Treatment & Adherence, Session 2
Persons living with HIV/AIDS face a number of social, psychological and biological stresses on an ongoing basis. It is important for providers to have an understanding and sensitivity to those issues when providing care. This one-day workshop will examine the major bio-psychosocial effects of HIV infection, in addition to the importance of adherence to HIV therapy. This course is designed for new case managers and individuals involved in general HIV care giving.
Objectives include:
- Discuss the epidemiologic and social similarities and differences between the COVID-19 and HIV pandemics.
- Describe the impact of COVID-19 on the health of people living with HIV
- Discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the delivery of HIV prevention and care programs
