Description

LGBTQIA+- Gender Affirming Care: The emergency department nurse residency program session will cover LGBTQIA+ issues. Objectives for this session will be to explore: 

–Why LGBTQIA+ Affirming care is important in the HIV community

–The differences between gender assigned at birth, gender identity, gender expression, and the various pronouns

–Respectful ways to communicate to all patients and how to perform service recovery when needed
