This is an event in the MidAtlantic AETC's summer virtual event series focusing on the LGBTQIA+ communities. These 90 minute zoom sessions on Wednesdays in June, July, and August will explore provider self-care, trauma, stigma, HIV, and race in LGBTQIA+ communities and LGBTQIA+ identifying healthcare professionals. Objectives
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify some of the structural, family systems, and psychosocial challenges as well as health disparities sexual and gender minority people may encounter
- Describe importance of providing services to LGBTQIA+ individuals with and without HIV from an intersectional, cultural humility perspective
- Discuss concrete action steps for improving care for LGBTQIA+ individuals in the fields of HIV, primary care, and others
