The alarming spread of COVID-19 in the USA has had a dramatic adverse impact on society as well as dental practice. Fortunately, a number of vaccines have recently been approved for administration in the USA and more will be forthcoming in the near future. There are millions of people that need to be vaccinated in a very short period of time to control the pandemic. In order to achieve this level of vaccination, DHCPs have been approved in many States, including Maryland, to administer the COVID-19 vaccine after fulfilling certain requirements. This program will provide DHCPs with the latest information on administration, reporting, record keeping, dosage, storage/handling and adverse reactions of COVID-19 vaccines/vaccinations as delineated by the CDC and the Maryland DOH. This course presented by the UMSOD fulfills the training requirement administration of COVID-19 vaccinations by DHCPs.
