This virtual conference will focus solely on HIV and Women. According to CDC 2016 data more than 7,000 women received an HIV diagnosis in 2016. Black/African American women are disproportionately affected by HIV, compared with women of other races/ethnicities. Conference attendees will gain knowledge of issues related to women with HIV and women without HIV as well as issues related to pregnancy options and referrals.

11:30 a.m.—12:00 p.m. HIV Harm Reduction for Women By Carolyn Kidd, RN ACRN, Clinical Nurse Educator, WV Regional Partner of the MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center

12:10 p.m.—1:40 p.m. Comprehensive Pregnancy Options By Andolyn Williams, Director of Programs at WV FREE and Charlie Mullens, Program Coordinator at WV FREE.
Objectives: At the end of this program, participants should be able to:
- Describe best practices for identification, care and treatment for the pregnant woman living with HIV.
- Discuss HIV transmission and prevention issues specific to the female population.
- Describe the WV FREE Comprehensive Pregnancy Options Referral model.
- Identify resources available to individuals for choosing the following options: parent, adoption and abortion.
- Deliver information with a neutral and objective tone for each option.

Nursing: This continuing education activity has been provided by the WV Regional Partner of the MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center for 3.6 contact hours. The WV Regional Partner is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the State of WV Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses. WVBRN provider registration number 50-26128.86.
Social Work: Social Work Hours are provided by Concord University Social Work Program for a total of 3.6 Social Work credits.
