World AIDS Day 2018: CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center, University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health, Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology will host the World AIDS Day 2018 Conference at the University of Pittsburgh on November 30th, 2018.  This year we will commemorate the 30th anniversaries of both the national AETC program and World AIDS Day. The World AIDS Day 2018 Conference will bring together experts in the field of HIV to recognize the dedication and efforts over the past 30 years. The conference will also focus on the future of HIV prevention and treatment. The conference will offer a poster session to highlight community projects, agencies, research, and collaborative work. 

Primary authors will receive a reduced registration rate of $30. 
 
Poster Session: This session will allow presenters to highlight the results of their work and the work of their organizations. 

The topic areas covered in this session will include:
•    Substance use/misuse
•    Mental health interventions
•    HIV clinical treatment
•    HIV prevention intervention
•    Prevention and treatment of Hepatitis
•    Prevention and treatment of STIs
•    PrEP patient engagement/retention
•    Retention in care and outreach
•    Adherence to antiretroviral treatment
•    Benefits, support services, case management
•    Consumer and community advocacy
•    Quality management, continuous quality improvement
•    Collaboration & systems integration
•    LGBTQ+ interventions 
•    Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI)
•    HIV and Aging

Guidelines:
1.    You may submit only one abstract as the presenting author
2.   Register for the conference using the abstract submission registration (discounted for authors) **NOTE: Once registration is complete you will receive the link for the World AIDS Day 2018 Abstract Submission Form 
3.   Complete ALL sections of the World AIDS Day 2018 Abstract Submission Form
  a.    Author information: Name, credentials, affiliation, address, phone, email
  b.    Poster information: Title, abstract (350 word max.)
4.    Abstracts should include the following sections:
  a.    Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions OR
  b.    Issues/Problems Addressed, Approach, Results, and Lessons Learned

Abstracts are due by 5:00PM on September 14th, 2018. Presenters will be notified by October 1st, 2018 of the Review Committee’s decision.

Transportation and hotel costs are the responsibility of the presenter.
