This training event is an interactive, in-person HIV rapid testing training for those who are interested in offering point-of-care rapid HIV testing.
Objectives: At the end of this program, participants should be able to:
- Perform 5 μl fingerstick blood collection.
- Perform CLIA waived rapid HIV test (OraQuick® Advance) using fingerstick whole blood, including running external controls for quality measure.
- Discuss need for confirmatory testing of preliminary positive rapid HIV test results.
- Discuss WV state law requiring laboratories performing HIV tests to report to WV Surveillance twice per month.

This continuing education activity has been provided by the WV Regional Partner of the MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center for 5.1 contact hours.
