The goal of this discussion is to highlight the experiences of consumers and providers regarding HIV-related stigma and discrimination. Stigma is known to present a barrier to HIV care and prevention services. Panel members will share both their personal and professional experiences, as well as, interventions they believed support motivation and healing. Through this discussion, the audience will be able to identify some of these issues and ways to promote resilience and healing.
At the conclusion of the presentation attendees will be able to:
- Identify ways stigma and discrimination surface in HIV Care and Prevention service provision
- Apply interventions that promote resilience and healing for consumers
