Update: Perinatal HIV Exposure, Opioid Misuse and HIV Testing

This training is designed for Nurses, Case Managers and Social Workers.

Learning Objectives

1. Discuss recent dynamics in the epidemiology of pediatric HIV infection in the USA and worldwide

2.   Review the principles of perinatal HIV transmission and perinatal antiretroviral prophylaxis

 

3.   Review HIV testing and current approaches to the prevention of mother-to-child transmission

 

4. Describe the clinical epidemiology of chronic pain in individuals with HIV infection

 

5. Describe the epidemiology of the opioid misuse and addiction

 

6. Describe the public health consequences of opioid misuse and addiction
