Pharmacists in HIV Management CE

Pharmacists play important roles in the management of HIV infection. This 2- hours training is designed to update pharmacists on currents trends in HIV testing, epidemiology and pathophysiology data on HIV.

The undelisted are learning objectives for the training:

• Review the appropriate antiretroviral regimens for treatment-naive and treatment-experienced patients, based on updated guidelines.

• Examine and discuss barriers pharmacists may face in treatment of patient with HIV, including suboptimal adherence, mediation errors and adverse effects/interactions

• Review the principles of perinatal HIV transmission and perinatal antiretroviral prophylaxis 

• Discuss the importance of early initiation of antiretroviral therapy in HIV-infected infants and its role in the research on cure of HIV
