Learning Objectives for the training include the following:
- Discuss HIV epidemiology and surveillance for the District of Columbia
- Discuss HIV risk assessment, 4th generation HIV testing and linkage to care
- Identify candidates who are eligible for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)
- Discuss HIV treatment based on current DHHS guidelines
- Demonstrate the ability to perform HIV infection testing and interpret results
- Utilize case scenarios to discuss strategies for HIV testing, linkage to care and appropriate care coordination of HIV patients
Audience
This training designed for students about to enter into professional practice in health and social sciences will focus on an inter-professional approach to HIV care along the health care continuum.
Accreditation
Accreditation is not offered for this program. However, a certificate of attendance will be sent to those who complete the post-evaluation.
