Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Erin Miers will provide discussion addressing an evolutionary psychology perspective on anxiety, how that impacts mental health care providers and patients, (including HIV patients) during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as some strategies to help provider and patients hopefully feel calmer and build resilience during this extremely difficulty time.

Objectives:

1.Be able to identify at least two strategies to help you (as a mental health provider) feel calmer.

2. Be able to identify on psychological reason why anxiety is so high during the COVID-19 pandemic (beyond the normal threshold of high anxiety).

3. Be able to identify at least one strategy to help patients to feel calmer or to help build resilience
