Insights into Understanding Professional Ethics and Working with LGBTQ Youth Impacted by HIV
Learning Objectives:
- Examine the “new” NASW Codes of Ethics, and acknowledge insight into personal biases and counter-transference
- Acknowledge insight into the LGBTQ (youth) culture and understand the impact of language and use of appropriate terms when working with these students
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to apply the “new” NASW Code of Ethics when working with youth who identify as LGBTQ and may be impacted by HIV
- Develop and articulate an understanding of how youth, who identify as LGBTQ and their families, may be impacted by a confirmed diagnosis of HIV
