Howard University College of Pharmacy, Office of Continuing Professional Education in collaboration with the College of Nursing & Allied Health, Health Sciences, Pharmacy Alumni Association, The DC Pharmacy Association, and the MAAETC will be holding its inaugural February Forum for Nurses, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. The forum will focus on ethical and legal considerations for healthcare professionals.  Participants will receive continuing education credits approved by the District of Columbia Board of Nursing. 

Upon completion of the forum partcipants should be able to:

• Describe how healthcare disparities such as HIV impact the LGBTQ community
• Understand Transgender/LGBTQ/Non-binary identities such as definition, terms, and proper etiquette
• Understand new regulations' impact on nursing scope of practice in the District of Columbia
• Understand the law concerning the duties and liability of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and nurses as it relates to medication errors
• Recall recent regulatory updates regarding immunizations in the District of Columbia
