John Richardson-Lauve,  Director of Trauma and Resiliency Education and Mental Health at Childsavers in Richmond, VA will provide basic training in trauma and trauma informed care.  By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Define various types of trauma and its impact on brain development in both children and adults

• List the roles that Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) play in adult physical and mental health

• Demonstrate how professionals can apply trauma concepts into daily practice
